Weekly Highlights Round 1

So off we go again and, as voted in at the AGM, this season we will be playing for a total of 32 points per fixture. Hopefully, the change will be a positive one, with the idea being that it rewards both team performance and individual performance, rather than allowing the team result to completely dominate.

OK, onto the first round then. The very early leaders after just one round are Oddballs, coming out on top 20–12 against Thirtyniners. Misfits are second after beating Top Pins, also by a 20–12 score, behind Oddballs by just a solitary pin.

Individually, Darren Draper led the way this week with a 596 series, which included the weeks high game of 234. Just one pin behind was Tom Cuthbert with a 595, which included a high of 227. Great bowling from both the League Secretary and President there.

Paul Bishop made a strong start, bowling a 549, and Rob Eighteen, from the recently rebranded team IBS, introduced himself with a very handy 548.

Finally, I'd like to extend a warm league welcome to our newest team, Socks and Sandals. All the best for the season, Rick, Greg, Rikki and James.
